Sharing Our Success
As Arena Energy and our affiliate company Arena Offshore have grown and prospered, the founders have sought opportunities to give back to our local and global communities.
In 2008, we created the Arena Foundation to provide support for nonprofit organizations in the Gulf of Mexico region and around the world. Funded entirely by company owners, the Arena Foundation donates to a variety of humanitarian causes based on need, giving priority to projects that are particularly meaningful to our employees. They submit nominations to a four-person board, which allocates contributions to those recipients we believe we can impact most significantly.
Featured Projects
Located in the Houston area, Panther Creek Inspiration Ranch provides equine assisted activities and therapy (EAAT) for children and adults with a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities. The Arena Foundation was pleased to partner with this organization to build an arena for horseback riding and other activities, which shelters ranch workers and those they assist from the sun and rain.
Pursuit is a 3,500 mile bike ride and capital campaign to secure the future of The Center and advance the awareness of people with disabilities across the country. For over six decades, The Center has empowered individuals with developmental disabilities to live dignified lives filled with opportunities for growth within an enriched, nurturing community. When long time Arena friend, David Baldwin, brought his passion for Pursuit and The Center to Arena owners, they immediately agreed this was the type of community program they wanted to get behind.
The Sailing Angels Foundation is a charitable, non-profit organization based in the Greater Houston area. Sailing Angels introduces sailing in the form of recreational therapy and education to children with physical and cognitive disabilities as well as wounded warriors and battered women. Tax Manager, Ben Pigati shared this program with the Foundation, and continues to volunteer on a regular basis. Accountant Shannon Coffel has personal experience with the program as well, as her family was recipient of a sailing adventure this year.
